YNV = Change
When I first came out to Long Beach I was desperate to get any client from anywhere.
I made the workouts easy and fun. I held myself back from pushing people too hard because I was afraid of scaring people away..
And the workouts were more about feeling good inside rather than getting results.
People would laugh and joke around and it didn’t even feel like a workout.
But something inside me told me that I could have better results as a whole.
I decided to hold people accountable, and move them outside their comfort zone. I
pushed people harder, and lost the fear of them running away because the workouts were a challenge.
Half of my clients quit, but the other half that stayed ended up
being as lean and in shape as college athletes. If your one of these people reading
this, you know that this is no BS.
I recruited people that needed:
- structure not micromanagement
- a coach not not a psychologist
- And I designed a workout that allowed a professional athlete to train
with a cubicle queen.
From the outside looking in, the workouts looked impossible to complete. But it looked this way to people that ran away from challenges. And that’s not what life is.
Life is not about change.
And that’s exactly what YNV represents: CHANGE.
The five principles that lay the groundwork have everything to do with transformation:
1. Attitude- Creates your world and can change it at any time.
2. Recovery-determines how much energy you bring to the world.
3. Fuel-amplifies this energy.
4. Movement-keeps this energy flowing.
5. Coaching- Helps you to direct it efficiently.
All of our clients that embraced this philosophy became warriors.
The definition of a warrior is someone who is in conflict.
And all people that come to us are in conflict between 2 people. Their new selves
and their old selves.
We are not satisfied with settling at being average. We want to be our best selves
and embrace the change that is required to to achieve our dreams.
To deny change, is to deny the universe.
Embrace hard work.
To deny hard work is to deny nature.
All animals, plants, and valleys work hard to create the beauty that allows you to relax and be in aww.
Ask yourself how you can improve on the 5 principles of YNV:
ARFMC. Write your goals down on an index card and carry them where ever you go for at least 30 days. Consider it your weapon of change.
Be a warrior today.
See you at the finish line.
